CHILL OUT THIS AUGUST WITH FROZEN SUMMER TREATS


Those Humboldt clouds are starting to clear and that means Summer is here! Are you ready to enjoy the warmth of the sun outdoors with your pup? With all the excitement of summer, it’s important to keep your pup hydrated & cool. Here are some easy recipes to freeze and take along to the beach or campsite! 

KONG RECIPES
Creamy Classic

1 tb. Peanut Butter (unsweetened)
1 c. Yogurt (unsweetened)
1 Banana 

Blend. Plug the small end of a Kong with a dab of peanut butter and spoon the mixture into the larger opening. Freeze. 

Mix it up: Add kibble or your pup’s favorite treat! 

 

Apple of My Eye

1/2 c. Chopped Apple
1 c. Cooked Sweet Potato
1/4 c. Honest Kitchen (rehydrated)

Blend the Honest Kitchen and sweet potato. Mix in chopped apple, then spoon into Kong and freeze. 

 
Mix it up: Add some parsley for fresher breath! 


Pumpkin Power Up

1 pkg. Pumpkin Patch Up! 
1/2 c. Primal Raw Pronto 
1 c. Cottage Cheese 

Mix. Spoon into Kong and freeze. 

Mix it up: Try different kinds of Primal Pronto! 

Doggone Good Cookies 

2 pkgs. Pumpkin Patch Up!
1/2 c. Peanut Butter (unsweetened)
1 tb. coconut oil
1 1/2 c. brown rice flour

Preheat oven to 350F.
Mix pumpkin, peanut butter, & oil together.
Mix in flour until dough is no longer sticky.
Roll out dough to 1/2 in. thickness between two sheets of parchment paper.
Remove top sheet and use cookie cutter to cut out the treats!
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place cookies onto sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes, cool, and let Fido have at ‘em!
They keep great in the freezer, too!
